Our Place Project

The Our Place project for Supporting Family Resilience in Sale Moor is an exciting opportunity to work in partnership across agencies and people in Sale Moor. The Our Place project aims to understand the interventions that have helped families come through a time of crisis and create a more responsive system that suits families and reduces the cost to the public purse.

Trafford Council, Thrive & Sale Moor Community Partnership will be delivering the project locally. However, we need your support to make it truly work.

Council, police, health, housing providers and Job Centre Plus / work programme providers have been working together for several years on the national Troubled Families Programme, known locally as Stronger Families. It is a time limited programme that has encouraged new ways of partnership working to engage some of the most difficult, and therefore most expensive families in the country. Current priorities for intervention and intensive support are families identified as being in crisis specifically those struggling with poor school attendance, unemployment and anti-social behaviour, all of which require significant public resource.

We want to understand the paths that families have taken and discover what has worked best for them. To achieve this we need to survey and interview key people in support agencies (Schools, Children Services, Health Services, GMP, Housing providers and local groups) and interview and survey families that have experienced difficulties that involved a multi-agency approach.

Once we understand the needs of these families we will offer seed funding for groups that want to set up projects and activities that start to address these needs.

If you can support this project in any way at all please contact Jamie Rennie (jamie@salemoorcp.org) at Sale Moor Community Partnership (0161-962-3636) and we will support you in any way we can to complete a survey.
